The Elementary Administrative Intern provides assistance to the local school administration when student enrollment reaches 800. The primary functions of this position will be to provide managerial and supervisory support to the principal in the operation of the school and to give general, administrative experience to prospective school administrators.
Teachers accepting an intern position are on an annual basis. If the intern position is eliminated at his/her site, the intern may enter the transfer process for another licensed position.
- Supervises student conduct and co-curricular activities
- Monitors procedures designed to ensure student safety and security
- Works with parents to respond promptly to their inquiries, concerns, and needs
- Consults and works with teachers to help students having difficulty accessing the general education curriculum (prior to referral to Child Study)
- Monitors building cleanliness and appearance
- Creates reports and performs record-keeping functions as directed
Performs related work as required
The Elementary Administrative Intern is responsible to the Principal of the assigned school. This position is not intended to assume the role of Special Education Contact. That role will continue to be the responsibility of the Assistant Principal. The Intern will assist with tasks related to scheduling and notification of meetings.
